Inspired by recent conflicts in the Persian Gulf, the installation brings together the mysticism of
military language, a strategically significant yet largely overlooked oil hub in the Americas, the War
on Drugs, and the figure of Jesús Malverde ‘Bad-green Jesus’—commonly referred to as the "angel
of the poor” and “narco-saint”, a Mexican bandit and popular hero in the state of Sinaloa). The
work engages with the political history of the capitalist order in the Majority World over recent
decades, the blockades on the political and spiritual development of the regions through the low-
intensity war characterized by the implementation of counterinsurgency developing practices such
as enforced disappearances, psychological operations, the instrumentalization of psychedelia and
the paramilitary attach on anti-capitalist horizons.
